Greetings from the School Counselor!

Grandparents As Parents (G.A.P.) – A Support Group
Circumstances often lead to situations which require family support beyond the traditional two-parent home. Grandparents are providing that support; today’s grandparent is becoming the “other parent” for those children fortunate enough to have one.
Is your child (or grandchild) one of over 354,000 students in Florida who are currently living with a grandparent? I would like to invite you to join our group as we meet for coffee and conversation on the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, at Read-Pattillo Elementary, Rm. 6-29 through the month of May. Suggestions for discussion are always welcome!
I hope you will be able to join us to give input, ask questions, share and gain support from others who are also sharing in the awesome responsibility of parenting their grandchildren.
For information please call 386-424-2600 , Guidance Option 7 or email mgriffin@volusia.k12.fl.us
Kindest regards,
Marla

Bully-Proofing
Students and staff at Read-Pattillo Elementary continuously develop and share innovative ways to end bullying and promote a climate of safety, acceptance, and inclusion campus wide. Throughout the year, students participate in a comprehensive anti-bullying program which provides activities and lessons to encourage and motivate students to maintain a bully-free environment.
Students will learn to identify the differences between teasing, harassment and bullying, as well as, how to report incidents appropriately. Anonymous bullying reports are also available. All incidents will be fully investigated and handled accordingly.
Parents, please use the resources below and help us maintain our bully-free campus!
